The Candidate Selection Method

Effective candidate selection is a critical component of a successful organization. How employees perform their jobs is a major factor in determining how successful an organization will be. Job performance is essentially determined by the ability of an individual to do a particular job and the effort the individual is willing to put forth in performing the job.

Job applicants differ along many dimensions, such as educational and work experience, personality characteristics, and innate ability and motivation levels.

The job analysis often results in a document called the job description, which is a comprehensive document that details the duties, responsibilities, and tasks that make up a job.

Our reliable evaluations are consistent across both people and time and each applicant could be rated on a scale (say, from one to five) for each important attribute based on all the information collected during the selection process.


MetaOption’s candidate selection is itself a process consisting of several important stages as-

Resume Screening & Preliminary Interview: For an application submission by a candidate. The first selection step occurs when HR managers review each of the resumes or job applications they have received for a specific position and narrow the list down to a number of candidates to either call for a phone interview or bring in for a face-to-face interview. HR managers have a clear and comprehensive job description to consult for an open position, including a list of required skills, experience and education. Once the candidate resume has been shortlisted as per the minimum eligibility criteria laid down by the organization. The skills, academic and family background, competencies and interests of the candidate are examined via a quick formal interview. The candidates are given a brief up about the company and the job profile.

Application Blanks- After clearing the preliminary interview, candidates are required to fill an application blank which contains data record of the candidates such as details about age, qualifications, reason for leaving previous job, experience, etc. which also give us an acknowledgement by a candidate to process their data for further process with the clients.

Written Test- As per the client requirement against the technical expertise for a specific position in an organization, candidate might need to go through some written tests conducted during selection procedure as aptitude test, intelligence test, reasoning test, personality test, etc. These tests are used to objectively assess the potential candidate.

Employment Interviews- Once the written test has been qualified; there will be one to one interaction between our technical interviewer and the potential candidate. It is used to find whether the candidate is best suited for the required job profile or not. At this phase, there should be an honest communication between candidate and interviewer.

Medical Examination- If required, a medical test is to be conducted to ensure physical fitness of the potential employee.

Verification of Education and Past Experience- In this phase, candidate’s educational qualifications and past experience need to be verified. This phase generally involves examining educational proofs to verify that a given educational program has been successfully completed and a given experience is valid with past organization (If applicable).

Background Check- A background history check is to be followed for the selected candidate to validate whether the candidate is involved in any illegal activities or not. If candidate came out clear at this phase, candidate will be called for the final phase to complete some organizational and client formalities and to discuss about the MetaOption’s benefits and perks offered.

Appointment Letter- Once all the above formalities have been completed, then finally candidate is appointed by giving a formal appointment letter and is congratulated to join the MetaOption’s family.
